1. Jesus really is the center of it all. There is a plan and purpose for your life that goes far beyond selfish living.
2. I didn’t really understand who God is until I was 25 years old– and I’m still learning daily.
3. It matters who you hang around. I’ll say it again for those in the back— IT MATTERS WHO YOU HANG AROUND.
4. Choices will follow you forever. Choose wisely.
5. It is necessary to stretch yourself. Get out of your comfort zone.
6. Stop trying to plan your life. I am not married, and I’m childless at {almost} 27, and it is o k a y. My life has not turned out anything like I planned for it to when I was 18 years old.
7. Love yo self. For real. Make time to care for your physical and mental health.
8. Be yo self. Don’t conform to someone else’s idea of who you should be.
9. Love the crap out of everything. It’s totally fine to sprinkle enthusiasm into the world around you.
10. Mean girls go far in high school. Kind girls go far in life. I tell my nieces this all. the. time. Be sweet.
11. Don’t define yourself by your talent. Really. Because if you do, when you become a retired athlete, you will have an identity crisis. Trust me.
12. Also, speaking of retired athletes, when it’s over, exercise. regularly. It’s all fun and games until you’re wearing a t-shirt in the pool.
13. Don’t try to force something that doesn’t feel good on the inside. No matter how good it appears on the outside or how happy it makes other people.
14. People pleasing can hide the real you.
15. Unplug. Learn the freedom & power of “no.”
16. Never underestimate the power of speaking with love.
17. Don’t trade God’s timing for your deadline. See #6.
18. Be a nice human.
19. If you’re unhappy, make a change.
20. Find something you’re good at or passionate about and find a way to use it.
21. The more you love your decisions, the less you need others to love them.
22. Selflessly pour into something you may never be rewarded for.
23. Define yourself as one radically loved by God. Because you are.
24. Get a dog. Just do it. My pup child is the definition of true happiness.
25. Surround yourself with people who are successful in different areas, learn from them, and grow.
26. Treat others better than they deserve. Love others more than they deserve. Jesus does this with us daily. This is The Gospel.
27. He is still God and he is still good— even when life is not so good. Life is a gift, and The Giver is good.
